A big, long race day post

PACKET PICK-UP: If you still need to get your packet, packets can be picked up starting at 4 p.m. at our on-site registration table on Memorial Drive near the start line.

CHECK-IN: You do not need to check-in at the run if you already have your bib.

PRE-REGISTRATION/REGISTRATION: If you need your bib and pre-registered or need to register, head over to the on-site registration table starting at 4 p.m.

BIB CHECK: Check your race bib information (name, age, and gender). If anything is incorrect, inform a registration volunteer as soon as possible.

BIB RULES: Wear your bib. The race is timed by a chip on your bib, which connects to your information to place you in the correct category. Wear your race bib on the front of your torso on the outermost layer of your clothing with safety pins. The chip will not read through clothing.


WATER/SNACKS: Water will be provided at mile one and mile two of the race. Water and light snacks will be provided at the end of the race. A big thank you to Jimmy John’s for their support of the post-race snack station.

ADDITIONAL FOOD: Kona Ice, The Wooden Straw and Rise Up Pizza will be on site if you would like to purchase additional food items at the race.


SAFETY: We have many children running, and there may be cars on the course. Adults, please keep a watchful eye out, especially for the children. Everyone, please be aware of your surroundings.

THE COURSE: School House Champions volunteers and Georgetown Police Department officers will be on the course to help guide and assist the runners. However, please review the attached map to familiarize yourself with the course. You can also find the course on our website (schoolhousechampions5k.com).

WEATHER: It looks like a great day for an outdoor run. Nevertheless, dress appropriately, and watch the weather closely. SHC5K is a rain-or-shine event.

PARKING: Parking is available along Georgetown city streets and also in Georgetown College parking lots. See the attached map for details.

RESTROOMS: Restrooms are available in the Georgetown College Student Center, just off the corner of College Street and Memorial Drive. See the attached map for details. 

RESULTS: Race results will be available at onsite kiosks at the race and will be posted on our RunSignUp page following the event (https://runsignup.com/Race/KY/Georgetown/SchoolHouseChampions5K). This link also has been added to our Website at SchoolHouseChampions5K.com.

It’s race day!!!!!

It’s race day!!!!! We are so excited to see you all at the start line at 5:30 pm! If you still need to register or pick up your packet, registration will open at 4:00 pm on Memorial Drive. It looks like there’s a tiny possibility of rain after 6:00 pm. Hopefully, it will stay away, but be prepared. We run rain or shine. See you there!!!

Volunteer Training Tomorrow

We will have a volunteer training from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at the Scott County Public Library Room C1 for all race-day volunteers. Chick-fil-A is providing sandwiches at this meeting, and we will hand out volunteers shirts at this time. While this is not mandatory, it is suggested that you attend.

Packet Pick Up Information

The 2019 School House Champions 5K is just one week away, and our packet pick-ups will start next week (the week of April 22) for those registered as of 7 a.m. today, April 20. Pick up your packet at the school you designated to support when you registered based on the list below, or pick it up at Buffalo Wild Wings on Friday. Times and days vary by school, so check the list below carefully.

Anyone registering today through Friday should pick up their packets at Buffalo Wild Wings or at the event registration desk.

Packet pick-up at schools April 22-25: Varies by school

  • Anne Mason: Monday, 7:30-8:30 a.m., 2-3 p.m., front lobby.
  • Eastern: Monday, packets will be sent home with students; Tuesday, school hours, front lobby.
  • Elkhorn Crossing School: Monday-Thursday, packets will be sent home with students. 
  • Garth: Monday-Thursday, packets will be sent home with students.
  • Georgetown Middle: Monday-Thursday, school hours, Family Resource Center.
  • Lemons Mill: Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m., front lobby/Family Resource Center.
  • Northern: Tuesday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-2:35 p.m., front office.
  • PCA: Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m.-4 p.m., main office. Call for other times.
  • Royal Spring: Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., front office.
  • Scott County High: Monday-Thursday, packets will be sent home with students.
  • Scott County Middle: Monday-Thursday, school hours, front office.
  • Scott County Preschool: Monday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., front office.
  • Southern Elementary: Tuesday & Wednesday, 1-3 p.m., front lobby; packets that can be matched to students will be sent home with students.
  • Stamping Ground: Monday-Friday, school hours, Family Resource Center.
  • St. John School: Packets will be sent home with designated student courier from the front office.
  • Western: Monday-Friday, school hours, Family Resource Center.

Packet pick-up at Buffalo Wild Wings: Friday, April 26

  • 3:30-7:00 p.m., 106 Magnolia Dr #103, Georgetown

Any packets not picked up at school or Buffalo Wild Wings can be picked up at the registration table on Memorial Drive on the day of the event, Saturday, April 27, starting at 4 p.m.
